Lights From Cherbourg at Castle Cove

from 15.00

There was a great amount of low laying cloud this particular night, acting as a shield against the light pollution, allowing the milky way to glow extremely brightly. The clouds reminiscent of a burning fire on the horizon, is actually light pollution from Cherbourg in France, 70 miles away. I've been told on several occasions by a steephill cove local that on a clear night the light from lighthouses in France are visible on the horizon, but it wasn't until this night that I could clearly spot them with the naked eye.
